The rules that govern the use of the GikoTasks platform.

Important — Read Before Using GikoTasks
By creating an account or using the GikoTasks platform at gikotasks.com, you agree to these Terms of Service in full.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not create an account or use the platform. These terms apply to all users: clients who book services, Taskers who provide services, and visitors.

1. Who We Are
GikoTasks is an online marketplace platform operated by 3 Dropouts Doctors Ltd, a private limited company registered with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in Kigali, Rwanda.
GikoTasks connects clients who need home and business services with independent service providers (Taskers) operating in Kigali. We provide the technology platform, payment infrastructure, vetting process, and dispute resolution system that makes these connections possible.
GikoTasks is a technology marketplace. We are not a cleaning company, plumbing company, electrical company, or any other service business. We do not employ Taskers. Taskers are independent contractors who use our platform to find and manage clients on their own terms.
2. Definitions
When the following terms appear in these Terms of Service, they have the meanings defined below:

| GikoTasks / We / Us | 3 Dropouts Doctors Ltd, the company that operates the GikoTasks platform |
| You / User | Any person using the GikoTasks platform in any capacity |
| Commission | The 15% fee retained by GikoTasks from each completed booking payment |
| Security Deposit | The 20,000 RWF amount held from Taskers for the first 90 days of activity |
| MoMo | MTN Mobile Money — the primary payment method on the GikoTasks platform |
3. Accepting These Terms
You accept these Terms of Service when you do any of the following:
- Create an account on GikoTasks as a client or Tasker
- Browse service categories or Tasker profiles on the platform
- Make or accept a booking through the platform
- Make a payment or receive a payment through the platform
- Submit a review or rating on the platform
If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
4. Account Registration
4.1 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a GikoTasks account
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information at registration
- You must have a valid phone number in Rwanda capable of receiving MoMo or Airtel Money payments
- You may only hold one account — duplicate accounts may be permanently removed
- Businesses may register using a company name and must provide valid registration details
4.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify GikoTasks immediately via WhatsApp if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- GikoTasks will never ask for your password via WhatsApp, email, phone call, or any other channel
4.3 Account Accuracy
- You must keep your account information accurate and up to date
- If your phone number or MoMo number changes, update your account immediately
- GikoTasks reserves the right to suspend accounts where information is found to be false or misleading
5. How the Platform Works
GikoTasks provides a marketplace where clients can discover Taskers, request bookings, communicate, make payments, and leave verified reviews. Taskers can list their services, set their own rates, manage their availability, accept or decline bookings, and receive payment — all through the platform.
The service contract for any individual job is formed between the client and the Tasker. GikoTasks is not a party to that contract. GikoTasks facilitates the connection, holds payment, and provides dispute resolution — but the legal relationship for service delivery is between the client and the Tasker.
What GikoTasks is responsible for
- Providing and maintaining the booking platform
- Vetting Taskers before they are listed on the platform
- Holding client payments securely until job confirmation
- Disbursing Tasker payments within the agreed timeframe
- Providing a fair and documented dispute resolution process
- Maintaining the security of user data in line with the Privacy Policy
What GikoTasks is not responsible for
- The quality of any individual service delivered by a Tasker
- Personal injury occurring during a service unless caused by our direct negligence
- Property damage beyond the Tasker's security deposit amount
- The availability of any specific Tasker on any specific date
- Delays or failures caused by MoMo or Airtel Money network issues
6. Payments
6.1 How Payment Works
GikoTasks uses a payment hold system to protect both clients and Taskers:
- You pay via MTN MoMo or Airtel Money when you confirm your booking
- Your payment is held securely by GikoTasks — it is not released to the Tasker yet
- The Tasker completes the job and uploads a completion photo
- You confirm job completion in the app
- GikoTasks releases payment to the Tasker within 24 hours of your confirmation
- If you do not confirm or dispute within 24 hours of job completion, payment is released automatically
6.2 Payment Methods
- Primary: MTN Mobile Money (MoMo)
- Secondary: Airtel Money
- First booking only: cash payment is permitted. All subsequent bookings must be paid digitally through the platform
- GikoTasks does not accept bank transfers, credit cards, or any other payment method at this time
6.3 Platform Commission
- GikoTasks retains 15% of every booking payment as a platform commission
- Taskers receive 85% of the agreed booking price
- The commission is deducted automatically before the Tasker payout is processed
- The commission is not charged to clients — it is deducted from the Tasker's share
6.4 Tasker Security Deposit
- All new Taskers pay a 20,000 RWF security deposit when they are activated on the platform
- This deposit is held for the first 90 days of activity
- The deposit is refunded in full after 90 days if the Tasker has a clean record with no upheld complaints
- The deposit may be used to cover confirmed client damage caused by the Tasker
6.5 Refunds
Refunds are governed by the GikoTasks Refund Policy available at gikotasks.com/refunds. In summary:
- Full refunds are issued for confirmed Tasker no-shows, GikoTasks cancellations, and confirmed service failures
- Partial refunds or goodwill credits are issued for partially completed work and minor quality issues
- No refund is issued where the job was completed as described and the client simply changed their preference
- All refund claims must be submitted within 24 hours of job completion with supporting photos
6.6 Cancellation Fees
Cancellation fees may apply depending on how much notice is given before the scheduled job. Full details are in the Refund Policy at gikotasks.com/refunds.
7. Client Responsibilities
As a client on GikoTasks, you agree to the following:
- Provide accurate and complete job descriptions, location details, and any special instructions at the time of booking
- Be present or make access arrangements at the agreed location and time
- Treat all GikoTasks Taskers with respect and professionalism at all times
- Pay only through the GikoTasks platform — do not make cash payments to Taskers after your first booking
- Not solicit a Tasker to work outside the GikoTasks platform — this deprives both the Tasker and GikoTasks of platform protections
- Leave honest and accurate reviews based on your genuine experience
- Report any problems or concerns within 24 hours of job completion via WhatsApp or the platform
- Confirm job completion promptly in the app — or raise a dispute within 24 hours if there is a problem
8. Tasker Responsibilities
As a Tasker on GikoTasks, you agree to the following:
- List services only within categories where you are genuinely skilled and competent
- Arrive at the agreed time and location for every booking — contact the client if you will be more than 15 minutes late
- Upload a before photo of the work area through the platform before starting any job — this is mandatory, not optional
- Upload an after photo of the completed work and mark the job as done in the platform
- Confirm the exact scope of work with the client before starting — get written agreement for any additional work requested during the job
- Treat clients and their property with care and respect at all times
- Never request or accept cash payments for jobs booked through GikoTasks after a client's first booking
- Never attempt to build a client relationship outside the GikoTasks platform or solicit direct bookings
- Keep all client personal information strictly confidential — including addresses, phone numbers, and anything observed in the client's home
- Cooperate fully with GikoTasks in any dispute or investigation
9. Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is strictly prohibited on the GikoTasks platform. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal without refund of any deposits or pending earnings.

| Leaving fake, paid, or manipulated reviews | Account suspension |
| Contacting another user to pressure them to change a review | Strike 1 warning, Strike 2 permanent removal |
| Using the platform for any unlawful purpose | Immediate permanent removal and legal referral |
| Repeated late arrivals without communication | Progressive strike system applied |
10. Tasker Vetting and Platform Standards
GikoTasks vets all Taskers through a multi-step process before they are approved to receive bookings. This process includes national ID verification, reference checks with two previous employers or clients, and a skills assessment conducted by GikoTasks.
Passing the vetting process does not guarantee the quality of any individual service delivered. GikoTasks makes reasonable efforts to assess Tasker competency but cannot be held responsible for the outcome of any specific job.
GikoTasks operates a strike system for Tasker conduct. Taskers who accumulate strikes through no-shows, poor quality, misconduct, or platform violations are subject to warnings, suspension, or permanent removal. The full strike system is detailed in the Tasker Agreement signed by all Taskers before activation.
GikoTasks reserves the right to remove any Tasker from the platform at any time if their conduct, ratings, or behaviour does not meet platform standards.
11. Reviews and Ratings
Reviews and ratings on GikoTasks are submitted by verified clients who have completed a booking with the reviewed Tasker. The following rules apply:
- Only clients who have completed a paid booking may leave a review for that Tasker
- Reviews must be honest and based on the actual experience of that booking
- GikoTasks does not edit or alter reviews unless they contain factually false statements or violate these terms
- Taskers may not contact clients to request, pressure, or incentivize them to change or remove a review
- GikoTasks may add a platform response note below a review where relevant context is needed
- Clients who submit false or malicious reviews may have their accounts suspended
12. Dispute Resolution
GikoTasks operates a structured dispute resolution process for issues arising between clients and Taskers. All disputes are handled as follows:
- Report disputes to GikoTasks via WhatsApp +250 788 432 705 within 24 hours of job completion
- GikoTasks acknowledges all disputes within 2 hours and begins review
- GikoTasks acts as a neutral mediator — we are not an advocate for either the client or the Tasker
- Decisions are made based on available evidence including before/after photos, platform messages, and written statements
- GikoTasks issues a final decision within 72 hours of a dispute being raised
- The GikoTasks decision is binding within the platform. Either party may seek independent legal recourse if they disagree with the outcome
The full dispute resolution framework including all scenarios, handling procedures, and resolutions is available on request. It governs all dispute decisions made by GikoTasks.
13. Data and Privacy
GikoTasks collects and processes personal data as described in the GikoTasks Privacy Policy. By using the platform you consent to that data processing. Key points:
- GikoTasks collects your name, phone number, email, neighborhood, and booking details
- Taskers also provide national ID, references, and a selfie during vetting
- Your data is used to operate the platform, process payments, and resolve disputes
- GikoTasks does not sell your personal data to any third party
- You have rights over your data under Rwandan Law No. 058/2021 — details in the Privacy Policy
14. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property on the GikoTasks platform belongs to 3 Dropouts Doctors Ltd. This includes:
- The GikoTasks name, logo, and brand identity
- The website design, user interface, and platform code
- All written content, documents, and materials produced by GikoTasks
- The GikoTasks domain name gikotasks.com and all associated domains
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or use any GikoTasks intellectual property without our prior written permission. If you believe your intellectual property has been used on our platform without authorization, contact us at [email protected].
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Rwandan law, 3 Dropouts Doctors Ltd limits its liability as follows:
- GikoTasks is not liable for the quality, completeness, or outcome of any service provided by a Tasker
- GikoTasks is not liable for personal injury occurring during a service unless caused by our direct negligence
- GikoTasks is not liable for property damage beyond the Tasker's security deposit amount on file
- GikoTasks is not liable for any loss of income, business opportunity, or indirect or consequential damage
- GikoTasks is not liable for delays or failures caused by MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, or any third-party payment network
- Our total liability to any single user in any calendar month shall not exceed the value of the booking or subscription payment in dispute
16. Termination of Accounts
16.1 Termination by You
- You may close your GikoTasks account at any time by contacting us via WhatsApp
- Clients must have no open bookings or disputes before closing an account
- Taskers must have no pending payouts or open disputes before closing an account
- Account closure does not affect any obligations arising from prior bookings
16.2 Termination by GikoTasks
- GikoTasks reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account at any time
- Reasons for suspension include but are not limited to: violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, abusive conduct, or conduct that damages the GikoTasks platform or community
- GikoTasks will notify you of account suspension via WhatsApp where possible
- Serious violations including theft and misconduct may result in immediate removal without prior notice
- Outstanding Tasker earnings at the time of removal may be withheld if there are unresolved client claims
17. Changes to These Terms
GikoTasks may update these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes we will:
- Update the Effective Date at the top of this document
- Notify all registered users via WhatsApp at least 14 days before significant changes take effect
- Post the updated terms at gikotasks.com/terms
Your continued use of the GikoTasks platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must stop using the platform and close your account.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms that cannot be resolved through GikoTasks' internal dispute process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kigali, Rwanda.
Nothing in these terms limits either party's right to seek urgent injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to prevent imminent harm.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the GikoTasks Privacy Policy and the GikoTasks Refund Policy (gikotasks.com/refunds), constitute the entire agreement between you and 3 Dropouts Doctors Ltd regarding your use of the GikoTasks platform. They supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings.
